Everyone should run & not walk to hire Maureen for your room organizing needs. Omg I feel like I can breathe in my home again with how organized it is now. Maureen was so prompt with communication, arrived on time, made amazing suggestions & worked so quickly. We did what we originally thought would take 2 days in 1 day. This was especially a blessing since I’m recovering from health challenges. Living out of state away from my family while dealing with this - I really needed the help. I’m glad I found someone like Maureen!

I highly recommend Room by Room if you need help decluttering your home. Maureen helped my wife and me clean out and organize our bedroom closet. The best part was that she hauled all the bags of clothes we got rid of to Goodwill. We definitely plan to use her again for other projects.

Maureen at Room by Room did a phenomenal job unpacking seemingly an endless number of boxes and organizing the items in those boxes in easy to use, logical ways. I appreciated her friendly demeanor, how punctual she was, and her involvement of me in the process to make sure she organized things according to how my household used each item. Maureen is amazing. From the very beginning, starting with our first correspondence, Maureen showed me the highest level of kindness and respect. I am a neurodivergent mid-aged adult who comes from a long line of moderate hoarders. I have worked very hard to address these tendencies and I was able to ask and receive the exact level of care and service I needed from Maureen. I requested a body double who would work alongside me and help me make decisions when I became overwhelmed and paralyzed by the process of cleaning and organizing. Maureen arrived on time and ready to work. She was very patient with me and listened to how I would like to proceed. I always felt supported and never judged by my mess. I really was drawn to her background as a nurse, knowing that she has seen people at their worst and still showed up with care, support, and expert knowledge and skill. She encouraged me to take breaks, drink water, eat, and expertly redirected me when I became paralyzed. Maureen is not a therapist, but she worked with me in a very therapeutic way. She is efficient without rushing. We stopped when needed to reassess and figure out what was next. Even though our schedules did not allow us to complete the entire apartment, Maureen set me up for success in her absence. We set up zones for where things go and began the purging process. I am on the right track and feel that she left me with the skills to work on my own. (I will add photos once I complete the organizing and decluttering process.) The only thing that disappoints me is that she is not available in Maryland during the summer. (Delaware folks, she is in your area in the summer.) I look forward to scheduling a touch-up session in the fall. If you are someone who struggles with organization and clutter and is especially neurodivergent, I highly recommend contacting Maureen and her business Room by Room.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Minimum of 3 hours per project and weekdays only. If you need to cancel you must do so within 24hrs via text or thumbtack messaging app. If less than 24hrs notice you are required to pay half of the scheduled hours. If paying for parking is required, I ask that the client include that in their payment. Finally, if you would like that I take donation items away, I charge an extra $30 per every 5 bags.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically text with a new client and ask for a few pictures of the space to see what I am working with. From there we decide together if I need to send links for organizational items to purchase and have ready. If the client requests a phone call or face time I am happy to do that at a scheduled time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Nurse by education but mom by training.
