Hello my name is Trisha Boyd and I am the founder of the S.A.F.E Haven Project. I am a 8th year educator currently a Dean of Student at a DC Charter School. I hold a BA in Human Services, Masters Degree in Leadership and currently pursing an Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership. At SAFE Haven,We provide services to schools, teachers, families and students. Our core belief is that student and family engagement is a continuing process that increase family participation, communication and collaboration within schools. We believe that it is essential for students, families and the communities to work together to create a momentous partnership that will lead to student success. Currently we are providing tutoring for early childhood ( Kindergarten) and elementary students in grades 1st-4th in reading, math & writing.

Finding Mrs. Boyd was such a relief for my child. My son, Jade, was behind in his reading level for all of middle school and struggled with phonetically putting words together, which impacted his reading comprehension. Mrs. Boyd provided the resources with learning tools and one on one of tutoring to turn my approaching standard student to a exceeding standard superstar. Mrs. Boyd pointed out some weaknesses that actually turned out to be a learning disability and even assisted with engaging with the school to start the testing process. While testing did not show that my child had a learning disability, Mrs. Boyd knew that my child needed extra support and did not give up; she assisted me to get an outside assessment completed and covered through my school. Jade not only had one learning disability but actually three different phonetical disabilities. Jade was able to get support through the school and Mrs. Boyd ensured the school engagement for my child’s learning was going to meet the goals for his academic success. If you are having issues with your child at school, Mrs. Boyd’s years of experience while help engage both family and school to create a safe, nurturing, healthy, and equitable environment for your child’s growth and success.

I believe my prices are affordable but can be negotiated for the right reason.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I like to do is get an assessment of where the child is academically. I will do that by doing a parent interview, looking at student work and speaking with the child teacher.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The highest degree I hold is a Masters Degree in Teacher Leadership from Walden University. I am currently pursing a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from NorthCentral University.
