FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard rate is $75 per hour with a two-hour minimum (plus expenses), but if a client is more comfortable with a flat rate, that is fine, too. In such a case, my rate depends on other factors as well, including how much travel time is involved and if the client wants any prints in addition to digital images.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began working as a professional photographer in the mid-1980s as a photojournalist, covering a wide variety of assignments, including sports, news and features.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I worked for a number of newspapers and The Associated Press during my photojournalism career, and my work has been published in several media, including Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Detroit Free Press, Kansas City Star, St. Louis Post-Dispatch and others. I also have done volunteer work for a number of nonprofits. More recently, I have shot events for private parties, animal portraits and properties for real estate professionals.
