FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I try to be as fair as possible when it comes to pricing. I have a passion for restoring and refinishing older pieces and encouraging others to have this done instead of going and buying new when there’s so much potential with their existing prices. The quality in the newer items is just not there. Plus there’s so much dumped into landfills every day. I know that refinishing can be expensive and I try to make it as affordable as possible so that anyone can have this done. When I give a quote I itemize out the materials I will use and then add labor hours. It’s my job to accurately quote my time and if it takes me a little bit longer to complete a project I do not increase the final price . If I can find materials at a better price than that discount goes back to the customer as well.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to go meet with my customers in the space that the piece I’ll be working on will ultimately be to get a feel for their sense of style and aesthetic. Discuss in detail what they are wanting to have done, colors etc. Then I draw up plans, sketches, etc. provide a quote with a breakdown of supply costs, labor hours, and turn around time. Once everything is agreed upon and deposit is received I get to work. I always send pictures as I go along to keep the customer updated as well as to make sure that our visions of the final piece align. Once it’s complete I coordinate either pick up or delivery.
