- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I take courses from my supplier to learn new techniques, new products and hands on instruction.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have had a great love of antiques and restoring them since I was about 13 years old. My first piece was a vanity table ca the 1930's bought from a yard sale. And the next piece was my great-grandmother's iron bed. My room as a young girl was all old pieces which had a story.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The majority of my work is refinishing and restoration, in that vein, I can custom mix a stain to match another piece in your home. I also do faux and custom finishes, work with multiple paint colors with rub through, and crackle finishes as well. glazing, distressing, stenciling, wood burning (engraving). I work with metals also. I also refinish gun stocks, picture frames, Victrola's, radios and trunks of all types. I can provide rushing, caning, woven and wood splint, upholstery, welding, and powder coating services.
