FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
A newspaper hired me to design and sell advertising, but I found the editorial side of the work far more interesting and gravitated to that as quickly as I could. After a few years, I left daily journalism for magazines.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I'm experienced in the full range of writing and editing jobs, from revising theses to writing feature articles or history, from creating a newsletter to developing a promotional campaign for a trade conference. I've developed brochures, instructional materials, and sales tools and edited everything from speeches and PowerPoint presentations to books and articles.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
The promotional materials I developed to train federal employees how to acquire and use personal identification cards have been used, with minor changes, throughout the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
