We asked Jon to build eve-pediments for the front and back gables of our 1899 house in the Mystic Connecticut Historic District. The artistry, workmanship and professionalism he displayed was top notch. Every detail was perfect. The project was completed on time and at the agreed price. We were very satisfied and would be happy to have him work here again.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to speak with new clients about what they are looking for while getting a good sense of who my client is and how I can best help them get where they need to go. Often this requires a phone call or in person meeting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Pratt Institute- Bachelor of Fine Arts Sculpture
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Jon Day studied Sculpture, Industrial Design, and Architecture at Pratt Institute.
Jon worked for Deitch Projects Gallery in New York, NY for several years as an art installer, artist assistant, operations staff. Jon had the pleasure of working with many artists from around the world while putting on many events and exhibits throughout New York.
Assistant Designer, Fabricator, and proposal writer for Dennis Oppenheim Studio in New York, NY.
He then spent 5 years working for Mystic Seaport on the restoration of the Charles W. Morgan, an 1841 whale-ship, the last Wooden whale-ship in the world. Jon learned how to conduct museum Quality restorations on this project, and how to coordinate large team based operations.

Most recently Jon taught a Tiny House Building Class for the Yestermorrow School of Design-Build
