Dog training type
Tanzi was patient with my dog. She asked me a lot of questions about him and then she went to work with advice and training. I found her to be very perceptive and professional.Nov 6, 2015Verified
Very helpful. Tanzi has a way of teaching the owner that is not at all intimidating, actually makes it fun. She was instantly liked by our young dog who respected her and responded favorably to her training techniques. Would highly recommend her.Feb 17, 2015Verified
Tanzi did a great job teaching us how to train our new dog. My daughters and I learned some simple, but very effective force-free techniques from Tanzi for modifying Lola's behavior, which appear to working! Tanzi is so friendly and patient - we look forward to continuing to work with her!Jan 5, 2015Verified
This was a great experience. Just one visit made a huge difference for my daughters dog. Tanzi is clearly experienced, compassionate and very skilled in all aspects of Dog Training. Her rates are also extremely reasonable and provide excellent value. Highly Recommend this business!!Feb 13, 2015Verified
Dog Crazy Lady is awesome! My dog seemed a hopeless case. But T.Leary gives me hope that he will be rehabilitated! He has fear aggression that we unknowingly were reinforcing. T. Leary is very knowledgeable in how dogs think and understand the world around them and what they can learn or be trained to do!Sep 11, 2014Verified
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I frequently attend seminars and watch webinars from trainers like Kathy Sdao, Patricia McConnell, Ian Dunbar, Irith Bloom, Pat Dennison, and more. I attend new academies with Pat Miller whenever I can.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I grew up with dogs in and never had dogs with serious behavior issues. Looking back, that's because I did a good job socializing them and am very consistent, so it's easy for them to figure out what I want them to do. Later in life I began fostering dogs for a rescue and quickly met some dogs with serious anxieties and aggression, and I didn't know what to do. So, I began taking classes with the world-renowned trainer, Pat Miller, and was smitten with the science of training. I attended her intense academies to achieve certification. I volunteered at the MD SPCA and was soon hired to teach group classes for puppy socialization, manners, loose leash walking, and I also work with dogs in the kennels to make them more adoptable.
- What types of customers have you worked with?* loose leash walking * housetraining * fearful behavior / anxiety * aggressive behavior toward humans * resource guarding * jumping * chewing * mouthing * tricks
