FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My lessons are personalized to each student’s goals and experience level. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to improve your skills, every lesson is tailored specifically to you. I offer one-on-one instruction and package pricing for students interested in ongoing lessons. Travel fees may apply depending on location, and all pricing is discussed upfront with no hidden fees.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start by learning about your goals and experience. Whether you want to learn basic sewing, garment construction, pattern reading, alterations, or fashion design techniques, I’ll create a lesson plan that fits your needs. During our first lesson, we’ll review sewing safety, become familiar with the sewing machine, and begin hands-on practice. Each lesson builds on the previous one so you leave feeling confident and making steady progress.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my Associate of Arts degree in Fashion Design from FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising), where I studied garment construction, patternmaking, textiles, fashion illustration, and apparel production. I’ve continued developing my skills through years of sewing, garment design, and creating educational sewing materials. My goal is to make professional sewing techniques easy for beginners to understand.
