FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started in broadcasting as a radio Announcer and Newscaster. That lead to a career in television production and then into acting and voiceovers. I've been in this industry for 25 years and have clients from across the globe.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I do voiceovers for a variety of productions. From television, radio and web commercials to narrations for corporate videos to PowerPoint presentations to on-hold telephone messaging. Anywhere a professional voice is desired is where my voice can be utilized.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
ALWAYS listen to a Voiceover Talent's demo reels before you contract with them. Listen for the quality of their voice, diversity in the styles of voices they can do. Make sure they have a "dry" sample of their voice. This is their voice alone, without any music or sound effects, just their voice. Listen to the production quality of the voice. Does it sound like it was recorded in their bathroom or in a professional recording studio? Are there a lot of clicks, lip smacks, throat noises, pops on words with a "p" in them? Amateur Voice Talent then to "pop their P's". Amateurs also have a lot of background noise in the their voice recording. This is due to the room where they record in which is probably their bedroom or a spare room where the acoustics were not taken into consideration.
