Nothing but good things to say about Balco Landscapes!
I had just completed two projects with separate big name contractors and the experiences were both horrible. Had I not been on home on several occasions, the work these other contractors did would have been done wrong and not to spec. So I was a bit uneasy when I realized that due to my work schedule, I would not be home for the entirety of the landscaping project with Balco.
But, Balco Landscapes showed up every day, on time, and did the work they quoted. The work itself is stunning! The installed 2 flagstone patios over concrete base, a separate stacked stone retaining wall, and landscaped a garden bed horribly overgrown with weeds and planted agreed upon plants. Also planted a dogwood in the very back of the yard. Balco also pulled the necessary permits from Baltimore City (which in itself is no easy task).
They quoted 2 weeks to complete the project and they finished in 1 week and 3 days. Harry and his team were nothing but courteous and professional from the moment they showed up in person to discuss design and requirements, through to the project's completion. The morning after the day in which it looked as though everything had been completed, I spoke directly with Harry to make sure they were done so I could finalize payment. Indeed they were... but Harry was already on his way to my house to shore up a joint line in one of the patios that "he wasn't happy with." I didn't ask him to do it... i didn't even recognize what he was talking about... but he came out on his own to take care of it. That is owning your workmanship. And that is respect for the homeowner. This is how working with contractors should always be!! They are already my decided choice for some additional work I'll have done in a few months.

Balco LLC was an awesome patio company to work with overall. They came out surveyed the area, created a layout, went over pricing and within days we then setup the time frame for them to do our patio. They worked all day around the clock to get the job done. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We aren't low bid contractors. We price jobs in order to complete them the right way with the highest standards. We either price jobs Time and Material or by the square foot. We will rarely be able to give an estimate without being able to visit the site.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Free designs/estimates
Prefer face to face meeting to discuss ideas. Once all the details are ironed out we have a customer agreement that we have the customer sign to protect both parties.
