- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually charge $50.00 per hour if we meet at the library in Parkville-Carney or online (Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts). This price can increase depending on the subject of tutoring and the traveling distance.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
On the first session I do an assessment, then I explain my teaching methodology, later I ask for my clients' goals and difficulties, and finally I start with the first lesson. Because I do personalize sessions, everything is different for each student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Bachelor of Sciences- Psychology. Working to get this degree has increased enormously my experience and knowledge of the human psyche. Because I am an avid reader and eternal student, I always look for improving myself and my service. Excellence is a word that defines my success. Metacognition (the process of learning how to comprehend and analyze subjects) is one of my goals when I tutor. Many students come to me not knowing their potential, but together we find their strengths and unique tools. After looking at various teaching techniques, I believe Constructivism is the best of all. According to this movement, the teacher has to guide the students to discover the world by themselves. By doing this, my students feel very active and excited to be part of their learning progress. I empower them in every moment since they are encouraged to take the initiative to look for knowledge.
