FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every tree and job site is unique, because of this it is very important to see each project in person to provide accurate pricing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is a Free Estimate, during this process the scope of work will be discussed and a price determined. A written quote is then mailed out to the homeowner showing exactly what the price includes. At this point the customer will be able to decide weather they want to use our services. If contracted the project will then be scheduled (once any required permits are filed/approved). Then the service performed as quoted.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In order to become a licensed Tree Expert you need combination of education and hands on training in the field. There are arborculture, forestry, urban forestry and various other related course that can be taken at your local college. Not all colleges offer Urban Forestry programs as the field is not as common as others. Once you have the required training and education you will then be required to show verification of these credentials prior to taking the Maryland Licensed Tree Experts exam. This exam consists of various domains, items you will be required to test on include Nutrition, Fertilization, Establishment, Construction, Tree Identification, Pruning, Safety, Disease and Pest Management, Bracing, and Lightning Protection to name a few.
