Introduction: With over 20 years in education, I am highly skilled, trained, and dedicated. My experiences are vast including teaching elementary through college, being a principal, writing curriculum, assessing students, and being an active team member of hundreds of student IEP cases. Math is my top content passion, and I also enjoy helping students strengthen their writing and study skills. I love seeing the ah-ha moment and helping students build confidence. For families, I can assess your child, share insights, develop a plan of support, provide teaching, remediate and extend/enrich. I have tremendous experience with special education and gifted education. For adults, I LOVE helping refine resumes and cover letters to help you showcase your strengths and I coach educators and school leaders.
I hold a BS in elementary education from Towson University, MS in education leadership from Johns Hopkins, and am working on my Ed.D at George Washington University. I am also Nationally Board Certified in Early Adolescent Mathematics.

Rachel works really well with children, teens, and adults. She particularly has a drive for math, and makes her students feel comfortable and ready to learn. You don’t realize you are learning when you are working with her. I highly recommend her for tutoring, coaching, teaching and more.

Hiring Rachel to help my son prepare for his ACT exam was the best decision we could have made. Rachel is professional, engaging, organized, smart, kind, and genuinely caring. She started out by getting to know him and her calm nature quickly put him at ease. She took the time to listen to what he needed most and mapped out an outline to ensure they hit all the core content necessary for the exam. It was reassuring to know that she was available at any time between sessions for free academic questions or study assistance.
My son noticed an improvement in his practice test scores almost immediately and found himself looking forward to his weekly sessions. His confidence grew every week and he is well prepared for his upcoming exam. I can't recommend Rachel enough, and I'm already looking forward to hiring her again for my daughter!
