Professor Taghavi has helped me in my Calculus course to the point where I was got A+ on my test. I would strongly recommend him, he uses easy to understand terms to simplify complex problems. He's very accommodative when it comes to scheduling and finding the time was never an issue with Professor Taghavi.Nov 4, 2018VerifiedNema Taghavi Math & Stat professor (Retired)'s reply
Thank you Nawaf for taking the time to review me. It has been a pleasure to work with you. I am glad you have gained enough knowledge and confidence to continue on your own which is my objective when I help students. I look forward to continue working together when needed.
I wish I found him sooner Nema really enjoys teaching math, in my case calculus. Going into the semester Inn knew that my pre calculus fundamentals was shaky and it showed in my first two test. I posted a ad on Thumbtack, and enthusiastically he replied back. His credentials does not do his knowledge Justice. This guy thinks, eats and breathe mathematics. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to rescue this semester. I plan to continue my study sessions and improve on basic to Advance precalculus fundamentals over the winter break.Dec 7, 2017Verified
My son was struggling with AP Calc. which lead me to look for a tutor. We were incredibly lucky to have found Nema. Initially I was concerned about not having an in person tutor because it is difficult to keep my son's attention for any length of time, but Nema is masterful at keeping my son engaged in the lesson and focusing his attention. Nema was able to pinpoint my son's weaknesses within the first call and immediately start addressing them. As long as Nema is in his corner, I feel confident that my son will be able to get his A in calculus and will do very well on the final AP test. I have been so impressed by Nema that I have added tutoring sessions for my other son who is preparing to take the SAT. Nema is always happy to help, has a very accomodating schedule and seems to really care about the boys and how they are doing.Nov 18, 2018VerifiedNema Taghavi Math & Stat professor (Retired)'s reply
Thank you Ms. Gill to take the time to write a review. It’s really a pleasure to work with the boys. Even though it’s over the phone but feels like they are sitting next to me. I look forward to continue working with them.
Let me start out by saying that I am NOT a "math person." I've always struggled in all my math classes (Except geometry that involved shapes and vocabulary. Go-figure.) This semester I had to take Calculus for Social Management at George Washington University. I soon realized that I was falling behind, and not understanding the professor or the concepts. I was beyond lucky to find Nema. We spoke on the phone for only 30 minutes the night before our first session- and he proved how much he could help me in such a short time. Nema is an incredible professor. He helped me quickly find my strengths and weaknesses- and is incredibly patient. We reviewed each concept- and the ones I did not understand he was able to explain multiple different ways, and effortlessly provide different example problems. I went from not understanding 90% of the class and having to constantly refer to my notes; to knowing each rule and types of problems inside and out. We worked together many hours to prepare for my midterm- and after many sessions with Nema, that was the first time I had ever taken a math test without freezing up on a problem. I knew exactly what to do without hesitation. Nema is an amazing professor, has a great sense of humor, and clearly loves what he does and it shows!Mar 15, 2018Verified
