What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Hiring a bellydancer in DC or MD is well worth the cost for the entertainment value they can bring to your event or venue. The cost will reflect standard industry rates for a bellydancer in the Baltimore/DC Metro area. Leilah's show-stopping bellydance performances have a wide range of customized choices to be most memorable for your event. Her prices range accordingly and private events start at $425 per set. Weddings start at $500. Typical set length is 20-25 minutes. Rates will vary with travel time, date and specialty props such as veils, cane/assaya, shamadan, candle tray, fanveils, type of event, dancing with a band and more. Longer shows are considered two sets, which will be reflected in the pricing and may include a costume change.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I speak with the customer about what their expectations are of the event and of my performance including length, date, time, and any specific requests for props, music, or costuming. Once we have finalized these details, I provide a price quote and a detailed contract. Once the contract is signed, the booking is considered complete only once the deposit has been paid.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The best bellydancers are eternal learners, so I am constantly taking classes and workshops with other industry professionals to improve my craft. I attend several dance festivals and conventions each year to stay abreast of industry changes and add to my body of knowledge.
I currently hold certifications on Sahra Saeeda's Journey Through Egypt Levels I and II.
