JT repaired damage to the back of our house. They were professional the whole way through and worked diligently to get the project done in what I feel was an extremely timely manner. Worked late a few of the days to ensure our house was not exposed over a weekend which was very nice. The quality of work was excellent and they answered any questions we had about the project. We would highly recommend them for a repair or remodel project.Feb 19, 2020Verified
Beware of this Handyman "JT Home Remodeling" He advertise as the name that you see on Thumbtack but when the crew shows up for the job, Its under a different name Handymen something ,and that's what the Representative tried to write a bogus contract under so I didn't know who this guy was. So he wrote the contract which all of the specificity mention were not in the contract as giving. I gave the guy the check to start the job the contract in writing which I received by request later while on travel by this time I was dealing with the person on the site who never started the work, where as were going back and forth about him taking my money and giving me the run around about the job. The guy that showed up informed me that it was company. after which the contract was written under another name I suspected file play, So he then put me in touch with the guy supposedly owns the company after have my money all this time and the job was never started. He says that you are going to need another payment while you out of town and that was his reasoning for delaying the job one of many excuses, the guy he sent said and wrote up the contract and took the deposit said that was all I needed to start the job and the balance could be paid upon completion . finaly the owner of JT Home Remodeling kept on saying he had another crew that could start a portion of the job because the crew that was to complete my project was doing something else when my project should have been in process. after a long three week battle he kept making promises the he never followed trough with completing the project. He told me he had multiply LLc under names... so all of the references you see on the site are from many other contract name and not "JT Home Remodeling" and the estimate value kept changing as well as the start and end date. This is bad business for contractors that can really take home owners for a ride, this person is not upfront with representation of a business in which he is advertising Thumbtack. the public is for warned.Aug 27, 2019VerifiedJT HOME REMODELING's reply
First and most importantly, we never received any payment from this customer. He originally gave us a check, which we never cashed, because he never signed and returned the contract to us, his check was mailed back to him. This in itself should explain the integrity of the customer. Marcus Barnes, ran a request on 08/05, we went to his rental property to do work on 08/06, he left country on 08/07 without signing our contract. I notified him on 08/07 by text that we would not start his work, since we did not have a contract, and that we would not deposit his check, when he returned we mailed his check back to him. He know this yet he wrote that we collected money without doing work. On 08/06 he did have my foreman run to Home Depot twice and Floors Unlimited once with him and he used my foreman's truck to carry him and the material from store to house, and had him carry into house. My man spent all day with him, and Marcus Barnes never paid for the work. He did though change the scope of work, such as he asked me to quote him a price for 300 sf of flooring but he then purchased 700 sf of flooring, and expected us to install for the same price. I informed him that he should find someone else to do his work. In summary he received work that he did not pay for. He never returned a signed contract before he went out of the Country. He wants to use the review process of Thumbtack to get work for free. The fact that he outright lies about paying someone, when he knows he did not, should tell you everything you need to know about him.
I received a quick response from JT home remodel for my project which was a welcomed change from previous attempts to complete my tile job. After a few texts back and forth, we agreed that someone would come out to evaluate the project, make sure all of the materials were in place, and to give me a quote. That meeting was scheduled for Thursday at 4pm. At 4:50, no one had showed and I texted JT. Didn’t hear back from JT until 7:15 the following morning, where he explained that his phone was accidentally off. Hmm. Okay. So I lose a day just sitting around with no communication from the company, but okay, let’s try for a quote Friday! Sure enough, all goes to plan, Gerald shows up and I get my quote. We schedule the tile job for 9:30am Thursday. Again, I’m home, excited and ready for Gerald to complete this job. 9:30 comes and goes. Nothing. I text JT at 10am, I’m told “He is on his way just spoke with him”. At 11:40 I reach out again wondering what’s going on. No response. Finally at 1pm I reach out to JT to say because of the aforementioned issues I’ll find someone else to complete my project. Based on my experience, there’s no way I can recommend them, which is a shame because I was so excited for this project to be completed. Update: JT has been incredibly professional about reaching out, trying to remedy the problem and offer solutions. While I had the work completed by someone else, I truly appreciate the effort showed by JT to make a frustrating situation better. He became more competitive in price, understanding of my frustration, and a true professional. I had to stick with a 3 because no work was actually completed, but I revise up from my original 1 because JT did everything possible to make me feel better about what had happened.Jan 14, 2020Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We currently are offering a 5% discount for all spring, home remodeling projects. The projects need to be under contract prior to April 15, 2020.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We have a meeting to discuss what the customer wants, and we also make suggestions, based upon our 30 yrs experience. We then progress to contract at which time the customer probably has not selected their type and color of floor, tiles, tub and shower. We then suggest manufactures and move forward with the remodel, allowing customer to make their selections, while we are framing, electrical, plumbing, hvac etc. It all comes together after the customer has made their custom selections.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?We built over 400 homes, for sale. We started in July 2019 to offer our services to homeowners when we were asked to repair items that other contractors had started but not completed. Our goal is to make sure the customer is happy with their finished product.
