Hi. I'm Jorge Gill, proprietor of J. Gill Construction. As you read further, you'll find figures and facts, together with what we do and how we do it. First, I would want to tell you why we do it. Why this industry, with all its "make a quick buck" flaws and the downright hard work needed to establish a solid reputation of being the hardest working, respectful and knowledgeable professional team out there? In 1990, I started working as a project masterman for two construction companies. By the time 2003 rolled around, I was armed with a healthy knowledge of the trade and eager to find new and innovative ways to expand my reach and gain greater opportunity to manage the "what we do and how we do it" throughout the entire process of a project, from A to Z. So I took the plunge, put my name out there, and started my own business, J Gill Construction. From small bathroom renovations to large basement overhauling and building brand-new additions with an idea to build a highly reputable company in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, our ongoing mission is to focus on the following: * Skilled expertise * Ongoing training to provide the latest in innovative technology and construction * Ease of doing business * Customer satisfaction We are licensed and credentialed. J Gill Construction is fully licensed and insured. Mr. Gill holds the license A for contractors in Virginia and Maryland as well as the plumbing, electrical and building licenses in these two states. Well, telling you the "why" is pretty easy to share: passion! I absolutely love what I do. My passion to make things look better with my hands and my imagination took hold at a young age. As a young man, I sniffed out any opportunity where I could learn the trade and the art of remodeling.

Hi everyone, if you are looking a remodeling company to help finish off your basement (or any other potential home project), I would like to suggest J. Gill Construction. Out of all the contractors that we ever worked with, J Gill Construction was the most amenable, enthusiastic and competitive contractor we had the pleasure to hire. From our initial conversation to the day it was completed; J Gill worked patiently with us. He understood how to make our budget work best for our needs and successfully delivered. He devised a great design with our input, and even thought of ideas/suggestions that we didn’t think of before. I could tell from the start that their suggested design elements advocated for us as the customer and what we wanted for a final design as opposed to adding design elements that benefited their bottom line. During the entire construction process, they were incredibly responsive to any questions or concerns we had and went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy with the process throughout. The workers that came to our house to complete the work were respectful, polite, hardworking and a joy to talk to. I would definitely work with J. Gill Construction again and have already recommended them to our closest neighbors. If you are in search of creative and quality work, give them a call.

I run a small rental business in DC/Baltimore and we use Jorge Gill for all our projects (on our 5th) and have since overpaying drastically on our first one. It's hard to overstate the benefits of working with a licensed contractor who is also a licensed plumber and electrician. He has excellent taste and common sense and goes out of his way to help his clients save money. All work is permitted. He doesn't cut corners in ways that backfire down the road. He is good with contemporary buildings as well as historic structures. We have worked with him on both. There is also the follow-up factor. If there is anything that needs attention after a job is complete, he addresses it. Not to mention that he's a smart, friendly, and courteous person. His workers are also pleasant, hard-working, and trustworthy.

Nothing but positive things to say about J. Gill construction. The craftsmanship of their work is top notch and they are highly efficient in executing the project plan. Beyond the aforementioned positives, for my basement reno, what I appreciated most was the fact that the team was ALWAYS on time. Often, they would be waiting in the driveway by 0630 and they would always start working by 0700. This level of consistency makes life so much easier to plan around home renovations! One additional tidbit of import: I had to part ways with another contractor that was doing sloppy and slow work on a hardwood flooring install and kitchen renovation upstairs. I inquired with J. Gill and they were not only able to take over the work from the other contractor, but they completed the remaining flooring install (cleaning, prep and install of 850sq feet) within 24 hours. For comparison sake, the other contractor took 96 hours to install 150sq feet. Needless to say, not only are they professional, but they are also lifesavers! I have already recommended them to a couple of my colleagues at work and will definitely use them for renovation projects I have in the future! Very happy in Laurel, MD!
