Hired on Thumbtack

He knows his stuff. He helped us with our current project, which mostly consistent of making our deck safe, and gave great advice on some future work. He was timely, and did exactly what we discussed for the price he quoted. His prices are reasonable. We would recommend him and will be seeking his services in the future.

Hal is an excellent contractor. He has the expertise, the excellent work ethic and the honesty which every customer like me is always looking for. He did several projects for me the last few weeks, and completed each one of them in high quality and great value. One project involves fixing an issue with door closer (for a storm door) which have plagued me for a long time, as the door closer always gets loose on the end connecting with the door frame and the storm door was bad. At first glance, Hal noted that door frame where the door closer was connected had been rotten out and the door frame may need to be replaced before getting a door closer (see one of the pictures). Then, upon further investigation, he devised a genius solution which not only solved the issued but saved me a lot of money. Instead of replacing the door frame, he found a storm door which as has the door closer in the middle location of the height of the storm door. This allows him to use the middle of the existing door frame (which was not rotten out) to attach and secure the door closer, thereby obviating the need to replace the door frame. He then patched the upper part of the door frame which was rotten out due to having been used to secure and attach the door closer of the old storm door (see one of the pictures). Another project he did for me with excellence to fix a front window of my rental townhouse, which was somehow not secured. An average contractor would have had the front window replaced by a new window, which would cost a lot of money. Hal carefully examined the 24-year-old front window and discovered a broken clip which caused the front window to be in a unstable condition (see one of the pictures). He researched for the replacement parts for the broken clip and found one. He then ordered the replacement clip and installed the clip for the front window, which solved the problem beautifully. See one of the pictures. It also saved me a lot of money since Hal's charge is reasonable and I did not need to buy a costly new replacement window. I cannot be more thankful and satisfied for Hal's work! Another project that Hal helped me is fixing the issue of a fence gate being unstable and shaky (see one of the pictures). Briefly, he went the distance for me to solve the issue by rebracing the gate and rescrewing the gate (see two of the pictures attached). Once again, I am very satisfied with the excellence of his work. To summarize, I cannot be more thankful and satisfied for Hal's work! So I definitely recommend Hal to everyone who has remodeling and repair needs! Thank you so much, Hal!
