Beware of scam !!! The owner told me That the service would be $195 for “deep cleaning my house” when I tried to pay him he jacked the price to $395 with out my consent. The house was not even cleaned properly. The owner offered to come back to my house to deep clean the missed area for $450 extra. I have been using thumbstack for 6+ years I have never seen such unprofessional and ethical practice.

Hi Imra, usually I don't respond reviews, but in this case is a bit different since I recent return to Thumbtack (as pro), so I think it is important in respect for the other customers. Your request was standard cleaning service once a month, you did the request, I sent you the printscreen in our previous conversation, before the service. On your text message you tell me that would not need appliances (that's is not including on our standard cleaning service). As windows inside are including on our regular service and you requested once a month, I would not charge extra for deep cleaning windows on our first visit, I am fair. It is ok. When we got there we discover that the house was locked, and empty. And you are not living there. You sent me the doorcode and told me you'd be on your way. I did not know that, since I imagined that we are going to do a regular service, once a month. When we got in the house we discover that your requested was completely different since your house was empty, recently remodeled, recently painted and there was construction waste/dust everywhere, including ceiling, walls, air ducts... as I told you on our text message. Unfortunately we cant reply this review with pictures, otherwise I would include our conversation (text messages) here, but you could, you have them and you didn't, you could upload for example your request. We could share them to Thumbtack support, as requested, and we did it, all of them. Then they recommend me to respond your review. They tried to contact you and solve this with me but you refuse it. They told me. Even so, when we arrived at the house, I would like to help you, I waited you come as you said but you sent your adorable mother, in about one hour later she was completely happy with the service that we were doing (we took more than 4 hours to finish) and asked us to clean the cabinets inside and the two refrigerators inside as well. One, despite being brand new, was a little dirty and the other one was completely dirty. My bad not to ask you before cleaned them I assumed that your mother has the right to ask it, since I thought you sent her to check, request...everything. She even asked my availability to clean other houses, since she is a realtor (she said), she gave me a business card and we would talk about it later, dont worry, I wont contact her anymore. The business card has a website that does not represent a realtors, I was confused... ok, never mind. I repeat, I'm sorry for that, but, well we cleaned, everything, "deep cleaned", including the windows, floors, remove the painted from the window glasses and floors, at least the most we could. We were not expect to do that. We did to help you, to make you and your mother happy. After that I asked you, not charged it, if you mind to increase a "bit", to $350 not $395 (as you wrote) since your requeste was different, since your mother includes some other parts, since we remove paint and construction dust/debris. You could refuse it as you considered I was wrong to follow your mothers instructions, after you say that you did not authorize her to visit there and request anything and then you sent me her phone number to charge the service to her (what?!). And well, for my surprise you really refused and did not pay me anything. 3 Days later you sent some pictures and other videos showing me some areas that could be not properly cleaned. It could be, since there still a lot of construction dust from ceiling, air ducts, walls... Remember when I warned you about this via text messages? You can include them here, please. But ok, things happen and I offer you one more visit, me in person, 2 cleaners again but at this point I had to ask you $450 in total, not extra! We would clean everything (post construction cleaning service, right?), that usually I dont take this kind of service, it take much more time than usual, sometimes need more than one visit etc. But I understand that you refuse to pay the "extra" visit since you could not be prepared for that and maybe this is why you requested a standard cleaning instead deep cleaning on your very first request. I understood this and even so, as a professional and ethical (fair, remember?) person I offered other ways to resolve it, you didn't resolve it in anyway with me, sent me that "youre done with this conversation", insult our maids as unlicensed and unprofessional, me as "scam" and did not pay any amount for our service. For the last you send that you are ok to send me $50 to cover my gas and travel time. No, thank you. So sad. I did everything right, you know that.
