Introduction

As a teacher, I look for creative ways to foster a long-lasting love for music. My students' goals always come first, whether that be to prepare for auditions, learn how to play the saxophone after picking it up for the first time, or to simply get better at playing the instrument they love. I have taught all ages, from 8-60+ years old. In addition to the technical aspects of the saxophone, I also teach essential music skills in my lessons including ear training and written music theory. I particularly enjoy transcribing music that students enjoy but do not have sheet music for (ex. popular songs on the radio or movie soundtracks) and using the music they enjoy most as a teaching tool. I have two degrees in Saxophone Performance: a Master of Music from Temple University (2021) and a Bachelor of Music from James Madison University (2019). I would love to give back to the community by inspiring passion for the best instrument! *rates can be adjusted for lower income students **Lessons may be conducted in the students' home or virtually on Zoom.
