Updated as of 11/21/2025 The Great Cover Up is a liar. They cannot be trusted. They told Thumbtack that the door they gave us are brand new doors when it is not and they provided fake receipt. Here’s why we know they are lying about the new door receipt. 1. The doors were yellow with nasty stain marks 2. We have a video of them removing brand new white doors from our house. 3. If it’s really brand new doors why would they paint over the doors to cover up the “stains”? When they could’ve easily returned the doors? They can still return the doors since it’s been less than 30 days. But instead they wanted to “Cover Up” the fact they used old doors for our project. No wonder they’re called “The Great Cover Up” coz they will cover up their mistakes. Samuel is a disgrace and to the contractor community avoid them at all cost. Original review below: I’m gonna be honest and just say exactly what happened what they did right and what went wrong Pros 1. They are good price 2. They will try to work with you 3. They did the demo and wall framing well 4. Shoe rack was awesome Cons 1. They didn’t clean up after work day and they left around 3-4pm most days. We still lived in the house and we couldn’t sleep in our room coz of the work they had dust all over the house we had to sleep in. 2. They lie, lie lie lie. There’s a picture here of doors they installed and shows nasty stain they tried to hide by painting but stain still evident. We have a video capturing them taking away brand new doors. Materials were part of contract so basically they stole doors we paid for and tried to play off new stained doors as new. 3. Little things. Forgetting trim, not ensuring rods are bolted on the walls for security. We had to handhold them the entire time while we too were working. 4. After all the short cuts and cheating it still took them double the time they promised. Because they come in late and leave early. 5. Promised us drawings none came which ended with them redoing work. In conclusion pls be cautious using them. They have potential but they don’t communicate with you and tell truth of their intent which is not good business etiquette. If you can pay more $$$ go with someone more experienced. It will save you the hassle
