Shel Shot Photography was a great pick for us. After a photographer that we consulted did not pan out, we turned to Thumbtack and received a total of ten bids. After narrowing down the field and meeting with several photographers, we met with Sheldon Johnson in person and saw both his online portfolio and hard copy prints. We were impressed with Sheldon’s professionalism and his promise that he would make the day fun for us as a couple. Sheldon communicates easily and rapidly via email and text, and was very accommodating as rain kept delaying our included engagement photo shoot. Even at the last minute he selected and enlarged a print for us that welcomed guests into the wedding venue. On the day of the wedding itself, he and his second photographer, Kevin Fenell, managed to capture nearly 1000 wonderful posed and candid images, even in the midst of another change of venue due to rain. Kevin even thanked us for allowing him to be part of our day. Sheldon returned our wedding portfolio to us within a week! This was my first time using Thumbtack and Shel Shot Photography, but it won’t be my last. Thanks Sheldon and Kevin for capturing our wonderful rainy, but cherished day!

I hired Mr. Johnson to photograph my daughter's 25th Birthday Bash on The Boomerang. He did an excellent job! He knew when and where to take the perfect pictures. He's reliable, experienced and very professional.

Mr. Johnson was very professional he had great communication all though I never did business with him before it felt like I had. He made us fell comfortable and at ease with the whole process.I will differently use him again and I will refer him to anyone I know. He had our pictures ready with in a week. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is very unique. I allow the customer to provide me with detailed instructions on what they are looking for and I design packages just for them. My customer never pays for things they haven't requested.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always attending seminars, and networking with some of the top notch photographers in this area. I took a 6 month high intensity class under the tutelage of one of the greatest photographers in Washington, DC. I am also a certified expert in Digital Photography from the Photo Art Studio , Institute of Technology and Advance Learning.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to explore photography because its the one thing that I know I am truly good at, and I don't feel like its work, its truly a pleasure taking the shots and interacting with people.
