Introduction: Hi I am Marcus Smith II, former 6 year NFL veteran now Life Coach, Speaker, author, mental health advocate and entrepreneur. I own a wellness facility in Upper Marlboro, Maryland where we teach sports fundamentals, general population wellness, and life coaching for all individuals. As a life coach my mission is to facilitate and coach individuals to become the best version of themselves through life experiences. Marcus was so helpful. We reached out to him after a conflict with our kid’s sport teams and he was able to provide us with reassurances and advice because he has been in the exact same situation! Thanks to Marcus, we now have a few core points that we remind ourself of if things get overwhelming or political. I love his value set and now I feel like our family will be better off as we continue our journey.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am six year NFL veteran and i walked away from the game on year 5 because of anxiety and depression. After being removed the sport I spoke with a therapist who help me get through the darkest time of my life. Ultimately I started to speak out and speak to Universities about the importance of mental health and also my journey. Now being a life coach I can reach certain individuals on a personal level. I can also help them get through tough times.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Last project I had was with a minor league baseball star who got hurt and he didn’t know what his identity outside of baseball was. It took me a hour to help him gain clarity about where we he wanted to go in life. Now we communicate on weekly basis to keep him On track.
