- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At Next Key Property Management, we believe in making the onboarding process seamless, transparent, and stress-free. We begin with a detailed consultation—either virtually or in person—to understand your property, goals, and any existing tenant or maintenance history. From there, we create a customized management plan that fits your property’s unique needs, including rent analysis, maintenance scheduling, and marketing recommendations. Once you’re ready to move forward, we execute the management agreement, set up your Owner Portal, and collect all necessary property documents and keys. If tenants are already in place, we manage the full transition, including deposits, ledgers, and communication; if the property is vacant, we immediately begin marketing, screening, and securing a qualified tenant.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our leadership brings over 30 years of asset protection, and operational management experience to every property we manage. Khristopher Hamlin, our Founder and Managing Property Manager, is a licensed REALTOR® in Maryland and Washington, D.C., with advanced certifications in: • Maryland Residential Property Management Certification (MRPMC) • Fair Housing & Landlord-Tenant Compliance (MD & DC) • Real Estate Ethics and Professional Standards (NAR & Maryland REALTORS®) • Financial Analysis & Asset Protection Leadership He has completed specialized training in property management law, lease administration, risk mitigation, and tenant relations, ensuring every property is managed with precision, compliance, and care. Our team also undergoes continuous education through Maryland REALTORS®, GCAAR, and DoorLoop’s Property Management Academy, keeping us current on evolving regulations, technology, and best practices.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Next Key Property Management was founded by Khristopher Hamlin, a seasoned REALTOR® and real estate investor who saw a gap in the market for hands-on, boutique-style property management across Maryland and Washington, D.C. After years of managing his own investment properties and assisting clients through Khris Hamlin Real Estate – Powered by Samson Properties, Khris realized that many landlords were struggling with unreliable tenants, inconsistent rent collection, and poor communication from traditional management companies. He launched Next Key Property Management to change that—built on the principles of trust, transparency, and tailored service. Today, the company helps property owners protect their assets, maximize returns, and deliver a first-class experience to tenants and investors alike.
