About Santa John: Stories and Joy of the Season

hired 1 time on Thumbtack

I would love to be your Santa for your family, Christmas party (home, business or corporate), or other special event.

I enter with a hearty "Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas boys and girls!", regardless of the ages of the group, I bring sleigh bells and candy canes, I lead in singing Christmas favorites (especially "Jingle Bells" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," for which I bring red noses), I tell stories, and especially, I offer "face time" for the kids to tell me their Christmas hopes, and sometimes their concerns.

Many of my stories are original such as "Why Santa Keeps a Naughty List", "Why Santa Lives at the North Pole", and "The Christmas You Almost Had No Gifts" using the name of a child or adult present, and I tell or read traditional stories as well, depending on the ages of those present and the setting. I have often been told that client's children had lost their belief in Santa until I came.

I am, by the way, a "real bearded Santa", insured, and a graduate of the oldest continuously functioning Santa school in the world.

Santa John is AMAZING! He is a joy to work with. We hosted a cookies with Santa event and all the kids and parents enjoyed him tremendously. We are so excited to have him join us again this year for Cookies with Santa and have recommended him to others. You will not be disappointed in Santa John. Merry Christmas!

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Check out my website, check out the referrals, ask about repeat customers, check out my background, ask about my willingness to work with people, and ask about safety and security issues.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. If I were a customer, I would want to know that "my" Santa was a people-person more than an entertainer, and someone who was "Santa" in their heart as well as someone who had a red suit and "looked" the part. I would also want someone I could feel safe with.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. What do you bring to my event? How reliable are you? What makes the difference in price? Do you have experience? Do the same people have you back repeatedly? What age groups do you work with?

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I get to meet people and talk with them! I get to talk with children and learn what is important to them, and maybe have just a small but positive influence with them. And I get to meet adults--who are actually just older children--to talk with them and enjoy their company.
