FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was a stay at home mom for 12 years. When the children were young I frequently used my art talents to supplement my husbands income. When the children were all in school, I went back to work as a graphic artist for our local newspaper. While at the paper I started a part time graphics business at home. After 15 years at the paper I decided to go full time with my business because I was no longer happy working for the paper. I'm always excited when I get up in the morning just to see what type of request came in through my web site e-mail. I've never regretted leaving the paper. I've been creating and designing ever since. I can't imagine doing anything else.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for an artist whose style you like. Check the testimonials to find out if work is completed in a reasonable amount of time. Check to see if you can contact the person by phone for a one on one. Call the number to see if the number is valid and to see if the artist answers the phone or at least has an answering machine. Leaving the artist a message is a great way to see how long it takes for them to get back to you. Anything over 48 hours is not acceptable. If the web site has testimonials, read them. If the work you are looking to have done is very costly, like a mural, ask for references and use those references.
