Prompt in terms of starting when promised and on-time each day. I hired Greyson to paint the entire interior of my Coop in a historic house, and 2 rooms wallpapering. Unfortunately, he did not know how to install standard wallpaper so it was left undone and credited. Also, he underestimated the painting time and as a result, was irritable and too rushed toward the end of the project. In the end, he argued over small details and left a few small work tasks undone. Overall Disappointing for a job that he started well.

The responsiveness and timeliness of communication was great, but the quality of the communication left something to be desired. When I noticed something and wanted something fixed during the process it was met with promptness and attention, but I shouldn’t have had to follow behind the crew and tape mark so many mistakes. We thought we were getting a great deal, but there was significant miscommunication about a couple of rooms we desperately needed painting- which resulted in them not being completed. (The biggest issue being a ceiling much too high for me, pregnant, to safely reach.) When asked I was met politely with an offer to re-invoice and finish, but upon inspection of the quality of the some of the other rooms we decided it wasn’t worth it. There was seemingly no prep work done, which is probably my fault for not explicitly asking what was included. I had asked how much prep work we needed to do and was told it was, “as much as we wanted to do”. I had no idea that meant them painting over screws etc. (my bad for assuming, every other company I spoke to included prep work), the invoice was not itemized so it was an oversight on my part, I suppose. I planned on painting the trim myself of course, but I didn’t expect to have to go over so many spots on the trim where they were negligent. The color match I requested was fine, but I wish there had been more communication and a final approval. I brought in another general contracting company that was doing some other work for us to get a second opinion, and his eyes widened at the state of one of the rooms, and he had some choice words. All of our stair treads have paint speckles and it’s taking me a significant amount of time to remove them. There are some spots unfinished as well, and quite noticeable with such a dark color in the “eye widening” room. The downstairs ceilings that were completed look great. Overall a bit of a stressful experience, I don’t ever expect perfection, but I do expect a bit more quality from a professional company. Spend a bit more to get things done correctly. Lesson learned.

Hi Kiersten, we appreciate all feedback. The work was completed according to the agreed-upon rooms, and additional areas were offered to be added at a fair rate when requested. Our quality inspection was successful, and during our last conversation, you expressed satisfaction with the work completed. While we understand expectations can vary, we are always transparent about what’s included in each estimate, and prep work is always apart of that. Unfortunately, we are not able to complete work that wasn’t originally included at no cost.
