Wedding and Event Catering

My fiancée and I recently gifted my friends Jenny and Josh a memorable wedding dinner prepared by Chef Matt Haight in the comfort of their Maine home — a delicious four-course meal so special that we’re almost kicking ourselves for not joining them for it. Just a few weeks before Jenny and Josh’s lovely evening, I started searching online for private tapas chefs located in Maine and quickly came across Matt’s stellar résumé and contacted him immediately. Matt, who owns the Maine restaurant La Orilla, responded promptly and, from there, we landed on a date and discussed the plan for the dinner. After Matt mocked up a few dinner options for us, we selected his mouth-watering menu of a trio of oysters, scallop crudo, bone-in pork rib eye, and poached pear with sweetened goat cheese and candied pistachios (dessert), as well as a perfectly paired wine selection. Since the meal would take place during the COVID-19 pandemic, he also promised us that he'd take special precautions to ensure Jenny and Josh's comfort, including mask-wearing and testing negative for the coronavirus. Following their dinner, Jenny and Josh said that it was an "unforgettable" night, and not only lauded Matt's culinary talents, but also his friendliness and cleanliness. He created tasty dishes paired with delicious wines inside Jenny and Josh's kitchen, served them himself, engaged in friendly conversation throughout the evening, and cleaned their kitchen before leaving. Additionally, Jenny and Josh were pleased to savor the leftovers that Matt had carefully packed away for them to enjoy the rest of the week. We look forward to working with (or dining with) Chef Matt in the future!

No need to go to a restaurant - just hire Matt! We needed to find a private chef to cook for my sister’s 60th birthday. I’m so glad that we found Chef Matt Haight Matt is a true artist in the way he blends flavors and has such a passion for creating great food. He has an innate talent and knowledge of food. Working with Matt was a pleasure. He listened to what our needs were, and patiently worked with us to come up with an incredible menu. Matt was always available to answer our questions leading up to the event. On the day of the event, Matt showed up with his lovely fiancé, Karli, and they went to work preparing our kitchen and each course. They make a great team. We were treated to the most incredible food and flavors throughout the evening. We didn’t have to worry about anything. All we had to do was focus on our guest of honor, our family, and friends. At the end of the evening, Matt and Karli cleaned up the kitchen and left it in great condition. That was very much appreciated. We highly recommend you hire Matt for your next event. You will be thrilled with the results.

Personal Chef

Chef Matt and his lovely fiancée Carly drove a considerable distance to cook for a dinner party of eight on New Year’s Eve, which also happened to be my husband’s 40th birthday. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, but just wanted things to be special - he was absolutely incredible. They arrived promptly, worked silently (seriously, my dining room and kitchen are in the same space and we heard absolutely nothing), prepared absolutely unbelievable food that accommodated the dietary restrictions of three different guests, and left my kitchen sparkling. Chef Matt introduced each course, answered questions, and even offered to refill water glasses. Literal perfection - hire this man!!
