FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have many years of experience and will usually survey the job site, break the work into stages and then apply 'man hours' per stage x an hourly wage depending on the level of work to be performed. All my labor numbers are hard numbers.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communication is the key. It all begins with taking a look at the proposed work, and talking to the client about what exactly they are looking to have done. Once I have an idea of the job and the clients desires, I would write up a detailed estimate that will clarify all the issues involved in finishing their project in a timely manner.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started by working for large companies in NYC, which specialized in dealing with pre-WWII buildings. This involved dealing with decayed plaster walls and preparing old wood trim work for oil finishes. I have experience dealing with old plaster walls and new sheet-rock construction...as well as refurbishing old or new trim work.
