Burt tore down my 3 season porch and wood walk way. Burt and crew did an excellent job putting in a cement sidewalk, patio and new steps for the front door. He also installed a window in my front door and repaired my back door. Great little touches, a removable side to the landing for ease of taking furniture in and out, an access panel on the backside as well. Excellent craftsmanship

Burt is very meticulous about this work. Our deck project turned out even better than I imagined, partly because Burt and I were able to bounce ideas off each other to get to just he right solutions. A few months after Burt completed our original project, I hired him again to do another smaller inside project for me. I was impressed again and really enjoy working with Burt. Not only is his work fantastic, he's a genuinely nice person. I recommend him highly.

In May 2018 we had Burt handle the replacement of an inground pool liner for a home we just purchased in January 2018. He was prompt to reply, bid and then install the liner as well as a pool heater. The gas line was not yet installed for the pool heather and the pool pump did not work so I ended up paying one of Burt’s colleagues additional funds to replace the pump motor. After the liner install we seemed to be left holding the ball getting the rest of the pool system up and running which was contrary to our understanding of the assistance he would provide. Within a week of install, we also had trouble with the liner coming loose from the track that holds it in place and had to pay someone else to repair this installation issue. In retrospect we should have went with the company we had been using for the past 4 years… lesson learned.
In addition, we paid more the than required down payment over 1 month in advance of the work and when he presented the remaining balance it seemed a bit higher than expected. After he left we noticed that we had inadvertently overpaid by $131.00. Despite numerous letters, the last of which was sent certified mail, we have had no response from Burt regarding our overpayment. We also discovered that there were a number of ‘holes’ in the vermiculite bottom and rather sizable “air” gaps in the 4 corners of the liner (suggesting the liner may be too small and had to be stretched creating a weak point for future failure of the liner.)
At the end of the day we feel we have no choice but to provide a negative review of Burt’s work and his responsiveness to our overpayment. Based on our experience, we would recommend looking for a different contractor if you are looking for pool work to be accomplished as quoted and without flaws.
