Introduction: five miles more is a straight-ahead jazz band. We want to bring you our interpretation of jazz classics and standards. Our influences and inspirations come from Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Louis Smith, Herbie Hancock, Dave Brubeck, Charles Mingus, Horace Silver, Billie Holiday, McCoy Tyner, Steely Dan, and more.
five miles more began as a small group of friends who got together weekly to play jazz prayer. We began playing benefit shows for church functions. As time went on, we added members to the group until we reached our current configuration of musicians and a vocalist.
five miles more is available for a variety of events. We have a wide range of selections to choose from and can tailor the bands size and song selection to best fit your needs.

The band,five miles more, made our party complete. The fabulous, lively jazz set the mood for the party. The band was PERFECT for our party. People were abuzz, a couple of people did a bit of Lindy hop swing dancing, we want to have another party!
