I am very happy to have met and hired Jeffrey to be the photographer of my mother's 80th birthday party & family reunion. Very professional and respectful all while asking people to get in the right position for the photo shoot. I receive many positive comments from family members on Jeffrey's professionalism and friendliness. For my next event, I will be contacting and hiring Jeffrey Loos Photography!Dec 8, 2017VerifiedJeffrey Loos Photography LLC's reply

Rating someone is hard as it is, especially when you are trying to give a review without allowing emotion to get in the way. Its taken me some time to write this out to make sure I give the best review for for next client. I found Jeff on Thumbtack and was happy to book with him for my wedding (September 2nd). I booked almost 10 months in advanced and was happy with the ease of finding him with good reviews. I wanted to pay for rights of photos without being forced to get a photo book or all the extras some companies were pushing. I paid $1,000 total for photos all day, and rights to photos that are photoshopped (a plus since this can take time and experience to get done). We paid well in advanced and his method was easy and digital. As our wedding day got closer, I had let Jeff know via email that I was firming up my itinerary. I received no response but was not expecting one. I just wanted to give him the courtesy as a client that those things were taking place. I sent the final itinerary 2 weeks before wedding, stating that though I did not want him for "getting ready" photos, I did want a first look and most of the bridal party pictures done for an hour before ceremony. I again received no response of getting itinerary or questions of said schedule. I began to get nervous, as brides tend to get closer to the big day. I finally called Jeff about a week later after no response to my email. He confirmed that he did receive the email, but this phone call felt rushed. Like he was in the middle of something, and short responses were given to quickly get through the call. I did want to go over my details, of first look photos, the want of more candid photos than poses etc. but this did not happen. I chalked it up to me being a super planner, and he has done this a million times and should trust the professional. The day of wedding, I had my adult wedding party and other relatives (grandparents) waiting for photos to take place at the reception hall for the big first look and bridal party photos. This was a feat in itself as my bridal party had families to take care of and get ready, as well as grandparents that traveled to be early and ready as well. After about 15 minutes of searching the property my photographer was nowhere to be found. Almost 20 minutes into my said photos to happen, I called Jeff, and an apology was made and that he didn't know he had to be there. He only thought that the chapel was the first place to meet for photos. He did offer to get to the reception hall as soon as possible, however timing would only give us possibly 15 minutes for photos. I had told him I would just meet him at chapel and had family take cellphone pictures our first look. I could have been bridezilla and yelled and screamed, but at what cost? I wanted my day to be a happy one, so my reaction may have been nonchalant, however I was very upset. Jeff did arrive at the chapel and began work quickly. He was present at all the big moments to capture the rest of our day. The quality and variety of photos he took were amazing! I am so happy they turned out so well, and that we had no issues with that. He did stay late, which I am not sure if that was in our contract, or if he felt bad that he was not on time. It still was a missed hour, no matter how you put it. Communication is key when handling any client, yes brides can be difficult but I feel that I wasn't overbearing or hovering the professional. This could have been easily avoided by simply communicating with me about the timing and day's events. I did not receive money back or any apology then over the phone from the day of. I don't expect a partial refund, its money spent and nothing can be done to get those photos. Maybe an hour session offered to make up for the lost time for family photos, I really don't know the right protocol. But a recognition of mistake and steps to make it right should have been done. As for other brides, I would make sure you are communicating with ALL vendors. I would still recommend Jeff, his work is lovely, but communicating things will be difficult.Oct 6, 2017VerifiedJeffrey Loos Photography LLC's reply
Hello Sarah! Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review! I'm so glad to hear that you were happy with the photos, I felt like we had such a great chemistry! And I certainly do feel terrible that there was such a huge miscommunication between us for the preparation photos. I take complete responsibility for not making the start time clear. For your troubles, I would be happy to offer you a complimentary 1-hour photo-shoot for my mistake. Sincerely, Jeff
Jeff was the consummate professional arriving early to the venue to stage the place. He was more than willing to capture every shot that we requested. He also turned around the edits in a very timely manner. The photos turned out great! Would highly recommend him as a photographer for any event.Mar 31, 2016Jeffrey Loos Photography LLC's reply
