These guys did an excellent job. I was overwhelmed with not fully unpacking after a move and a desperate need for organization. They treated me with dignity and was respectful of my home. I had moved from a house to an apartment and needed help organizing while using the most out of my space. Don and his team helped us clean and organize our basement - we had a whole lotta toys and and old clothes that needed to go, but every time we tried to start, we became very overwhelmed. I didn't believe them when they said they'd get it done in 7 hours, but they did! They're enthusiastic and fun to work with, I never dreamed this could go so well or be so easy. Sometimes you just need a kick in the butt to get going! I cannot say enough great things about these people. I don't think of myself as a hoarder, but there ARE some overwhelming areas in my home that I have not been able to declutter - clearly I needed help. I was looking for help organizing and decluttering our cluttered and unusable basement, as well as getting other parts of the house under control. Don, the owner, told me not to be put off by the name of his company, and reassured me that they have 'seen it all' so I heartened to hear that, it made me feel less embarrassed about my messy areas, and I decided to go for it. Don is fabulous, he and his assistant came out to the house to see the scope of the job and after some discussion, we set some goals and talked about what to expect and set a date to start. So far, Don's crew (of 2 people this time) has worked one (amazingly productive) 2 hr stint and I am VERY happy with the results. They were very nice, and respectful of my house and property, and they moved FAST!! We got more accomplished in that 2 uninterrupted hours than I would have been able to do by myself in maybe 2 months or longer - no kidding. They were able to efficiently and nicely box and empty an entire room plus it's very full closet and move it's contents to the basement storage area and also vacuumed for me! Now I can move my elderly dad into that room. They were also able to help me clear space in the basement so the kids have room to play down there and it's not as overwhelming a task to declutter- there's room to move around now! - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Pricing is kind of difficult until we see the actual project at hand. Basic organization is $ 75 an hour per organizer, usually leads into something more. Straight clean outs normally start at $2700.00 and comprehensive hoarding clean outs are priced based on project and need.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?In working with a new client, I want to understand what is going on in their life. Maybe it is just an organizing situation, or maybe wanting to rid themselves of a bunch of discards they do not want anymore. We also work with hoarding clients where I try to get to the root of the problem.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been in the helps business all of my life. Usually people wouldn't want to come to me because I have never worked in anything that you want; it is what you need. I worked as an aftercare counselor and preplanning in the funeral business which was the most rewarding job of my life.
