The job I had ahead of me was half a garage filled with 20 years of "stuff" from the home I previously lived in for 20 years. I had put it off for three years plus and decided it was time to take the giant step forward and get it all cleaned out. Not only do I have a great looking, organized garage, I now have the energy and motivation to tackle the little things that can pile up inside my house. This team of workers was timely, strong, creative, bold, fun and as focused as they come. I'm so thankful for them and all they have done for me. I had my basement and garage cleaned out by Hoarding Michigan. They showed up on time and worked very hard and fast. They helped me figure what to keep and what to get rid of and organize everything. My basement and garage look great now! They even swept out the garage and put nails in the walls to hang things up which I didn't expect. I had contacted Don regarding an organization system that I needed installed. He was very prompt with getting me the quotation. I did not initially hire him however; when the contractor that I did hire decided to cancel the morning of the scheduled work date I called Don. He was very helpful and was able to get a contractor to my location within 3 hours. The work was completed that day and it looked great! The contractor, Scott, was very professional. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Pricing is kind of difficult until we see the actual project at hand. Basic organization is $ 75 an hour per organizer, usually leads into something more. Straight clean outs normally start at $2700.00 and comprehensive hoarding clean outs are priced based on project and need.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?In working with a new client, I want to understand what is going on in their life. Maybe it is just an organizing situation, or maybe wanting to rid themselves of a bunch of discards they do not want anymore. We also work with hoarding clients where I try to get to the root of the problem.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been in the helps business all of my life. Usually people wouldn't want to come to me because I have never worked in anything that you want; it is what you need. I worked as an aftercare counselor and preplanning in the funeral business which was the most rewarding job of my life.
