Introduction: I provide quality, consistent, individualized math help for students struggling in math or just wanting to get that extra edge. Some tutors try to retain students for a long length of time. In contrast, my goal is to give students the confidence they need to be independently successful and ultimately work myself out of a job. I really enjoy empowering students and showing them that they can do it! I love helping students reach that "Aha!" moment when they finally understand something. They can conquer their fears of math. I thrive in giving them confidence in their abilities and taking them from a "I can't!" to an "I can". I look forward to helping your child become their best possible version of themselves.

We hired David to tutor our son Sam shortly after he began the IB program at International Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Sam was really struggling and was barely getting D-'s on his tests. David was quickly able to identify the various (many!!) issues Sam was having. With patience, empathy, positive support and amazing teaching skills David's impact was obvious and immediate. David provided Sam with many tools to cope with his issues, as well as math skills to compliment what he was learning at IA. Sam's marks steadily improved along with his confidence. David continued to work with Sam for all four of his high school years, and when Sam graduated from IA (one of the top high schools in the US and in the very challenging IB program) he had a B+ in math. Happy to report that Sam will soon graduate from the University of Edinburgh (International Relations and Law) and this would not have been possible without David Brazle. We have a sophomore (in MYP on track for the IB curriculum next year) and a senior (currently preparing for IB exams in May). Our senior has been working with David as needed for over a year and our sophomore began working with David several months ago. They both agree that David is an excellent teacher and is able to explain the material in different ways to ensure they understand it. David is very knowledgeable in all math concepts and clearly explains the material. Due to time constraints, occasionally David works with both of students at the same time and is excellent at giving both students the attention needed. I highly recommend David as a math tutor --- he has truly helped both of our students through concepts that were challenging for them.

David is very knowledgeable and has helped both my middle school daughter and high school son. Mr. Brazle was the BEST math tutor I ever had the pleasure of working with. I was not able to grasp certain concepts my teachers taught because of their fast pace but Mr. Brazle took the time to work me through all of it. The way he explained broke down the concepts made them so easy to understand and Math became my strong point throughout high school. I went to an IB school and I ended up getting a 6 on my IB math exam. I strongly recommend working with Mr. Brazle if you struggle in math because he is the best tutor out there!

Excellent tutor. I highly recommend. David tutored my sons in preparation for the International Academy in Bloomfield. Both benefited tremendously from their time with David. Surprisingly, one went on to minor in math. Initially, this was not a favorite subject. I credit David for giving my sons the confidence and tools they needed to be successful students. He made learning fun for them.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a flat rate of $60/hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have a FREE 30-minute session where I get to know the student. I get to know what has brought them to the point of looking for a tutor, what kind of struggles they're having in or out of the classroom. I ask about what interventions they've tried.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been teaching math at the high school level for 11 years. With 3 degrees (Bachelors - Math Education (6-12), Masters - Math Education (6-12), and Masters - Learning and Technology), I have many tools up my sleeve to help students succeed in mathematics.
