I hired these folks to come out and take care of some ventilation issues and to remove all the ancient insulation from my attic throughout the whole house and replace it with cellulose foam. The fellas were very friendly and good to work with. They helped me understand the situation better and stuck to their timeline. They arrived each day (was a 4-day job) punctually and got right to work. When they finished, they let me know, cleaned up very nicely, and thanked me for the opportunity. We're a couple days in and I can tell you already what a difference it has made. The bedrooms around the perimeter are much warmer in the mornings, and, after we knocked the icicles (which were a big problem before) off the eaves, they literally haven't come back yet (much to the dismay of my son, who loves knocking them down). I've got the thermostat set at 68 and it stays about 71 despite being very cold outside (used to kick the furnace on quite often through the day). Worth every penny top to bottom. Great customer experience!

Thank you so much for the detailed and thoughtful review! We’re thrilled to hear about the difference your attic insulation and ventilation improvements have already made—especially with more consistent temperatures and reduced ice buildup.
Our team takes pride in being punctual, communicative, and respectful of your home, so it’s great to know that stood out throughout your project. We’re also glad we could help you better understand the situation and deliver results that truly make your home more comfortable and efficient.
We appreciate your trust in Story Basements and the opportunity to work with you. Enjoy the warmer mornings—and we apologize (just a little!) to your son about the missing icicles!

Best priced (by far!), excellent work, responsive, hardworking, and honest local company. Let me save you some time and significant money if you are searching around for a local company to encapsulate your crawlspace. We did our homework and reached out to 5 different local companies with the same request and job proposal for our 400 sq ft crawl space (spray foam insulation and encapsulation to turn our dirt floor space in to usable storage). We received vastly different quotes (2-5x higher), with all other companies coming in $2-10k higher(!), absurd. Crazy to think that others are willing to price gauge that much. Find an honest company like Story Basements to do your work. Ken was fantastic from start to finish with communication and they were able to get our project done in 1 day. To top it off they are respectful of your house, cleaning up after themselves, leaving our home and the new space spotless.
