Let me just say planning a wedding is no easy task. It can be stressful and overwhelming. But choosing our officiant, Dr. Girdwood was a absolute blessing. He made the whole process easy. He displayed his expertise and professionalism and was super helpful with the whole process. We could not have asked for a better ceremony and it was truly a day we will always remember forever. Dr. Girdwood helped make our once in a life time moment absolutely memorable. He made our ceremony our own with the personal touches and attention to details. Working with Dr. Girdwood was an awesome experience. He helped us on short notice and was very professional throughout the process. He even traveled to us! His prices are also reasonable and worth the service he provides. Would definitely recommend reaching out to him to be your officiant.

Dr. Girdwood made the wedding process a breeze, and was beyond helpful. It’s no secret that weddings can be stressful, but Dr. John eased many concerns and was always willing to help us and accommodate us in any way possible. 10/10 would recommend his services, whether it be a small get together or a 300 person event. We also really appreciated his website and the clarity behind the whole arrangement. Overall, he was extremely professional and eager to help with whatever we needed, which was greatly appreciated. We will forever be grateful for his help in making our special day happen!

We had a very unconventional small wedding on our pontoon. We had some rain at the start which pushed back our plans. John was very understanding and patient waiting with the rest of us having conversations with our guests and ourselves. Once finally out on the water John was fantastic!!! I would recommend him to anyone I know.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depending on the services requested, my lowest fee for a simple elopement is $200. My full service operation is $400 and specified on my website.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Depending on the service requested, an elopement may be a phone consultation and the elopement service, or my full service option provides many additional amenities, such as crafting a custom script as well as returning the marriage certificate to the appropriate office. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified ordained minister by Universal Life Church! In addition, I have a Master of Arts in Teaching and a PhD in Political Science from Wayne State University that has enabled me with countless public speaking opportunities and training.
