FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Explain clearly every expectation and detail regarding the event and what the performer is being asked to do. The more information, the easier and quicker it is to book the event.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
People sometimes fail to understand how much work goes on behind the scenes. Even though a client may be paying a performer to sing at event to perform a 30 minute set, they have to understand unlike many other occupations, an entrepreneur like a music artist works all the time, constantly thinking about how decisions will affect their career. When you ask an artist to perform at your event, they're not just showing up at the event. There's so much work and preparation behind the scenes which make that performance all that you expected and more. Many times, artists do pro bono things to give back or sew a seed. Never underestimate the work that you don't see. For many up and coming artists, there's even more work. There are some that have to work even harder; they have to practice a lot more. For some, not much practice is required. Some can just wake up and do it. Either way, encourage those who are stepping out in the creative fields. Not only is it work and practice, but so much heart and passion is put in, sometimes disregarded. These people are brave, self-encouragers, creative, and take a lot of risks.
