My eleven year old daughter just started taking lessons with Ben after being with another teacher for four years. She likes Ben and his teaching methods, his patience and the home atmosphere. We are looking forward working with Ben and very blessed to have found another great piano teacher.

Ben Saunders is an outstanding voice and piano teacher. His welcoming demeanor creates a comfortable learning environment, allowing my daughter to express herself freely and build her confidence as a musician. Ben’s communication skills are exceptional; he ensures that both students and parents are well-informed about lessons, progress, repertoire, and recitals. His lessons are organized, engaging, and pedagogically sound.
All of the students in his studio have grown immensely as musicians under his expert tutelage, which is evident through periodic recital performances. Our daughter has learned about proper singing technique, musictheory, and repertoire that covers a diverse range of genres, providing her with a solid foundation to meet her future music goals.
Ben Saunders’ dedication to his students’ growth and his genuine passion for music education are evident in every interaction. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a knowledgeable and inspiring music teacher.

Mr. Saunders is a pedagogically sound professional with knowledge of a wide range of vocal styles and has helped my daughter improve remarkably during her time taking lessons with him. He is also a fantastic piano teacher. My daughter's lessons were well organized and productive. She thoroughly enjoyed his sense of humor as well. It's not often you can find a high level teacher that is also extremely relatable to their students.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first consultation lesson is free! In the first lesson, I assess the student’s capability to establish their skill level and areas of improvement. We also discuss any musical goals toward which they would like to work. Based on the assessment, we create an individualized, tailored plan based on the student’s strengths, learning style, and the needed areas of improvement to help them progress to achieve their goals. We also find the best lesson time based on the student’s schedule.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with distinction from Northern Arizona University with a Masters of Music Degree and was awarded the 2020 NAU Outstanding Graduate in Master of Music. I graduated Summa cum Laude from Weber State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. I have been teaching private music lesson for over 15 years, and have taught over 100 students in total. I studied private voice with Dr. Karen Brookens, Gary Sorensen, and Marta Gutierez. I also studied private piano with Dr. Gerta Wiemar, Melinda Tall, and Misty Wiese.
