After a few quotes, my husband decided to go with this company to redo our deck (deck minus the foundation). Was a new business so he wanted to give this guy a chance. He seemed motivated and determined to redo our deck, which was a HUGE project and we thought it would scare people away (and it did) but this guy took on the project and told us that "if we do move forward on it I can get to it as soon as the weather permits also once I start a job I only open up one at a time so we'll be there to finish your job every day as long as the weather permits." Well, I'll start by saying he was not there every day (his other guys were), the guys didn't come every day that it was nice (M-F), and he actually told my husband that he was doing another project. My husband felt like he had to supervise this project with the other guys as there was a miscount for the materials so buying more and back and forth at the stores (he had us purchase the materials and he picked up most of it), exchanging products as he has us order the wrong posts; guys leaving early since they needed supervision for the project or didn't have the right people doing certain jobs; texting back and forth trying to make sure we had everything. Never again (hiring someone who will depend on the customer to get the materials). I'd rather the company get what they need and just add it to the total. We didn't and don't want to deal with the stress, that's why we hired someone. Things weren't picked up daily (things left on our property: garbage from materials used, water bottles, pop cans, beef jerky packages, cigarettes). And a big pile was left on my grass even the day they finished, which I had to move since it had already killed my grass, which wasn't ever fully picked up as I couldn't stand it anymore and stuff some of it in my garbage bin. After 20 days over 9 weeks (rainy and cold days in between) it was finished. It's not perfect due to the foundation being old and off but we were happy enough with the results. Luckily we paid one labor fee and not hourly. We both agreed that ONLY if you have a smaller project, and don't mind organizing your materials, this company would be fine.
