What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our service fees vary, based on the size of the building and it's complexity. EX. 900Ft2 Bungalow on slab OR 5000Ft2 McMansion on a finished walk-out basement (with 2 or 3 HVAC systems)? Which one will take more time to perform a whole-house energy audit? An Infrared thermal scan starts at $125 and runs upward of $250. How did you get started doing this type of work?
I originally decided to work in the Energy Conservation/Renewables industry back in 1982. I graduated in 1988, by then nobody seemed to care about saving energy...so I started doing Mechanical construction. I've been working in and educating myself in the Construction, Energy, and HVAC-related fields for over 25 years. It is my passion, and in this tough economy, I'm fortunate enough that I haven't had to totally change careers. All my previous work & education experience has brought me to where I'm at today!
