My wife and I had Atlantic Coast Waterproofing come out last summer to waterproof our basement and we are thrilled with the service they provide. Our basement was continually getting worse with flooding. In the fall and spring we would have to shop vac anytime we got rain because the water would flow in above our ankles. In the winter any thaw we got we would get water in our basement. We have now been through a rainy fall and a winter were we have seen a crazy amount of weather change and we are bone dry. I have a dehumidifier running just in case and we only have to dump the water out maybe once a month instead of every other day. The system they put in I recommended to anyone. People may want to compare their price with other companies but it is hard to do because even though they may be a bit more expensive but what you get is 3x or more extensive then the other companies. They give you a life time warranty with no fine print! I want to emphasize that part "no fine print". They stand behind their work. The owner of the company is on site working with the crew so no corners are cut. They give you the correct solution not just a band aid like the other guys. When they are finished for the day they will walk you through what they did and make sure you are familiar with the process. I loved the fact that the owner took the time to educate me on the system he was putting in and on every part of the process. I can't say enough about Atlantic Coast Waterproofing. If you want peace of mind then they are the company to use. I recommend them to everyone and I would offer to show people my basement if people wanted to see for themselves before committing. I have a 1952 built home in Royal Oak that I have lived in for about 4 years. I have had minimal water issues over the years, however this year was different. In late February there was a ton of snow and the temps rose to about 60 degrees and melted everything. It then proceeded to rain for numerous days. The water table under my home rose and created hydro static pressure causing water to flow through the seams in my poured foundation. My wife and I tried a few cheaper fixes and even had a company come in and inject our floors to try to stop the water. This was just a waste of money. After about a month of the water not stopping I got in touch with Gary at Atlantic Coast. Gary responded right away and I had an appointment within a day. I had about 3 other waterproofers lined up with quotes, however I gave my business to Gary without even hearing from the others. Gary is the definition of a Waterproofing Pro. He was honest, respectful and there was no doubt he knew pretty much everything there is to know about how water gets into homes and how to stop it! Gary walked me through exactly what was happening under my house with the water table and the water pressure. He then walked me through the solution which included a 100% lifetime guarantee of no water coming through the walls and floors which is fully transferable. Gary installed a an interior drainage system connected to a sump pump which pumps water away from the house. It has been about a month since completion and I have had no water issues. Working with Gary was great! He communicated with me throughout the entire process and did a great job. Right away Gary built trust with me. Working with Gary was a fantastic experience. He did a great job of explaining where and why my basement was leaking and exactly what was going to be done to fix it. More than just explaining how waterproofing is done, Gary located the causes of damage to my basement and had a plan to fix them. Throughout the work, Gary gave daily updates on progress and plans for the next day. Also, any concerns or new information that was discovered was communicated promptly so that I could make an informed decision. Additionally, Gary relayed all information he got from the inspectors, so that I knew exactly what would be expected and required. The work was also very professional from demo to install. They did everything reasonably possible to keep the house clean. I would definitely recommend Gary and Atlantic coast waterproofing to anyone.

Being first-time homeowners, we were frantic when we found out that the house we had recently bought had a leaking problem in our mostly finished basement. It was definitely a stressful reality check that was worsened by unfriendly service calls. Reaching out to Atlantic Coast Waterproofing and talking to Gary was so refreshing. He was kind enough to drive at least an hour away to inspect our home, educate us on our home foundation and the cause of our problem, and offer us multiple solutions to address it. He was so honest and upfront with the risks and benefits for each option without sounding unprofessional/rude. On top of that, Gary was so patient with us. He worked with our budget and was so understanding of our worries and our situation. He wasn’t pushy when it came to decision-making and made sure we were comfortable with whatever we chose. It wasn’t just about selling his services but ensuring that we had some peace of mind with our decision. The day after he inspected our home (today), he had our basement scheduled for repairs. Gary and his team were extremely professional and made sure everything was clean before they left. He made sure we were well-informed through out the process, updating me and showing me everything that was going on. He made sure we understood what was going on and showed us any cause for concerns in the future. When they were finished, he did a final walk-through with me to make sure everything was as planned, ensuring that nothing was missed and that we didn’t have any concerns. We can’t say enough about the professionalism, kindness, and customer service that Gary showed us. Not once did he make us feel like this was just a job for him and left us feeling more at ease in our new home. Atlantic Coast Waterproofing is definitely top of our list if we had any more waterproofing concerns in the future and we would definitely recommend them with no second thoughts.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Atlantic Coast Waterproofing will schedule a free interior/exterior basement inspection for the homeowners. We will then sit down with the owners and explain a little bit about ourselves, and the basements overall condition. From quoting to design and installation, you will be actively involved in the process and be able to speak with us every step of the way.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Our company was founded by my father in 1972. I got my start in this business in 1985. My father had me learn this industry from the ground up. As a young man I worked as a laborer learning my father's trade. Since then I have installed thousands of jobs and have never looked back. In 2007 my wife and I took the corporation over and I am considered an active owner. I enjoy bringing my knowledge to the customer and serving them over the competition.
What types of customers have you worked with?
In our industry I believe there are two types of customers, pro-active and re-active. A pro-active customer will have us waterproof all four walls knowing that a faulty drainage system installed by the builder will eventually cause more problems in other areas. This type of customer might also be finishing their basement. A re-active customer may have us do partial work. They believe where the water is coming in is the problem and not the symptom. This type of customer might be selling the home and would let the new owner deal with any new basement leaks.
