Introduction: I only tutor remotely - no in person. I’m accepting students ages 12 & up Monday - Thursday 9 AM - 4 PM EST 8 AM - 3 PM CST, 7 AM - 2 PM MTN, 6 AM - 1 PM PST. Sunday afternoons for SAT ACT prep. I also have 3 evening time slots: 5 PM EST (4 PM CST) Monday & Wednesday. 7:30 PM (6:30 PM) Monday Each & every student's progress is important to me. I work hard putting together Google Jam boards that fit the math skills students are studying. Together we review these Jam Board and work problems. I've successfully tutored College and high school Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, middle school math, SAT / ACT test prep students & GED math. **** I have a masters in Mechanical Engineering and have been helping my own 3 kids with their math for over 2.5 decades. I’ve been tutoring others in math for almost 3 years.

I’ve learned more from Vickie in 16 hours or so then I’ve learned from any college algebra class that I’ve taken. She is so knowledgeable and her tutoring style is professional but adaptable to my own learning style. Plus, she’s always on time and she’s been flexible with my schedule. Vicki was awesome and helped my son over a hump. He struggled with fractions and just wasn’t getting it no matter what and Vicki was able to explain the process in a way that made sense to him pretty quickly. Very accommodating and gentle with my son and extremely knowledgeable.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Payment is due by the end of each week of tutoring or can be paid in advance.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We talk a little about the the issues the student might be having with the material and my expectations for both the student (and parents, if applicable). For middle school students, parental invovlement is crucial. I find that tutoring works best when I am presenting the same material as is the teacher. For this to happen, I need periodic updates or the teachers term curriculum maps. Of course, we will take time out during a session to further review & work problems on individual concepts students are stumbling on that are necessary to support their current unit. Math concepts are like a pyramid and we will work together to improve the foundation as well as master the new concepts students are learning!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been tutoring part time for a few years and well as years of experience helping my own kids.
