FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am told I never charge enough! :) I am conservative in my pricing and all supplies are included in my final quote. I have been fortunate to have many clients recognize they would have paid much more elsewhere and if happy with my work, have provided an unexpected ‘tip’ at final payment.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I find out what the project is they need completed and in what time frame. I always ask for pictures of the item if I can’t see it in person. I then ask what ideas they might have on what they want done. I then explain what I can do within their expectations or offer advice on what might work better for the item they want refinished. I review with them the process I will use and write down their final expectations in my project book. We discuss a timeline, determine a quote, and I ask for $25 down to cover the cost of supplies; the rest to be paid when the job is finished.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Everything has been taught to me by others who refinish furniture, self-taught, and of course, watching YouTube videos! :)
