I am an educator by background and love to work with all ages of family members. My background in biology, and many years of contact with wolf research give me more insights into your dog's behavior. I'm a skilled positve trainer with years of experience but I am always learning new things to make my training even better. I've had lots of experience working with fearful dogs, boisterous dogs and dogs that were driving their owners crazy. I work with each dog and each family as individuals. I enjoy getting to know both people and their dogs. Dog training is not a one-size-fits-all business. Each family and each dog has it's own circumstances, gifts and sensitivities. My job is to help guide and problem solve in each new environment. Dog training takes lots of empathy, thinking outside of the box and a big dose of humor. My clients and their dogs become my friends.

I've had one visit with Beth but she is a lifesaver!! I was at my wits end with my young puppy but I want to make this work and get passed the puppy stage. Beth spent time explaining why my pup was doing some of the things she was, told me how to deal with them, answered all my questions and most importantly made me feel so much better about having my dog. She managed to get my mouthy pup to cooperate and I see the glimmer of hope. I look forward to the rest of our training! Beth knows what she's doing and does a great job putting an owner (especially a new one) at ease.

Our family recently moved to Novi MI from Sri Lanka with our "village dog" Charlie. Charlie had extreme dog/ dog aggression issues and walking her was very difficult and dangerous. (We live in a dog dense neighborhood) When Beth contacted us we found out she too had raised a "village dog"! (Beth's daughter had brought the dog back From Africa. ) Beth was knowledgeable about the breed. She understood and could relate to the many challenges we faced training Charlie- most importantly she knew how to help both Charlie (and her family) learn and apply positive techniques to manage and gradually decrease undesirable behaviors. Beth has extensive experience training dogs and also brings along a wealth of knowledge due to her background in Biology and her work with Wolves. She is a highly experienced, competent, caring and compassionate trainer. We are so happy with Charlie's progress. Beth has also helped us, Charlies family understand our dog, her behaviors and taught us how to be better parents to Charlie - Charlie's also learnt some new tricks! Thanks Beth

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will meet with you in your home at a time that is convenient to you. The moment I walk in the door, I will begin training your dog. I will work with you and help you learn the most efficient dog-friendly ways to help your dog become your best buddy.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, The Pet Professional Guild, and am also endorsed by TV trainer Victoria Stilwell. I attend seminars, conferences and workshops to continually learn and update my skills. I am on the core staff of Dog Scouts of America. I have completed all the requirements of the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers
