FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always knew that I would go into some sort of design work- but I thought it would be fashion design. For as long as I can remember, I was sketching and designing clothes for everyone from Barbie to my sisters. Art and creativity has been a huge part of my life. I've dabbled in many aspects through the years, but it wasn't until I got to college that I found a way to incorporate my love of design into a profession. Interior Design has been a great way for me to use my creativity on a daily basis.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common jobs are probably the furnishing of spaces. I do a lot of great rooms and family room design- from selection of paint colors, to furniture and accessories. Its never boring, because the options are endless.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I think the biggest thing that clients should know, is that Interior Designer's are educated in their craft. We aren't 'decorators'. Anyone can be a decorator, but when you hire an Interior Designer, you should know you are hiring the very best.
