My passion for Communication has allowed me to teach communication at the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, and Washtenaw Community College. As a Toastmaster, I have competed in numerous contests and trained by Darren LaCroix in his "Get Coached to Speak" class. When I walked into my first class at the United Association Instructor training program at Washtenaw Community College, what I saw was 25 nervous plumbers, pipefitters and HVAC mechanics. At the start of class Karen had us quickly engaging with each other and talking about something called " Karen Fun ". With Karens skill and professionalism, she was able to get a room of nervous Union tradesmen a little more at ease and best of all teachable. I found the 20 hours of instruction; fun energetic and comprehensive. I am excited to use my new speaking skills in my next class. I might even join toastmasters Great Job Karen !!!
