About
Note: We are now serving the Lapeer County area, as well as Oakland County. We go above and beyond when taking care of your dog. We have extensive experience with most breeds, and spend quality time with them. (We are currently building a new home in Metamora but are still working out of our Oakland County location/home).
We make our own dog food, and try to avoid pesticides and chemicals when we can. We take a maximum of 4-5 dogs at a time and are not a big kennel. Instead we are kennel-free with a large, gated, dog enclosure and an obstacle course. Our prices are very competitive ($45 per night, flat fee, no additional charges) and tend to be less expensive than a traditional kennel.
We have been taking care of, training and working with dogs for many years. Our training fee is $65 an hour and we usually have good results within 10-20 training hours: Or we have a consulting fee to show you how to train your own dog. There is no greater joy than spending time with our fellow critters. We love what we do!!

For many people, their pups are family and it is this way with my sweet girl Mia. Having Claudia take care of Mia is like having family taking care of family. Claudia takes great care to be sure that the pups that she boards can get along with one another and enjoy their stay in an open, comfortable and safe environment. Mia is always excited whenever I take her to Claudia's place and I would highly recommend her to anyone! Whenever I'm away, I always feel confident that Mia is in loving hands!

Claudia was very friendly and warmed up quickly to my Golden Retriever. He had just had surgery and I needed somebody who had experience with dogs, was responsible, compassionate and knew how to take care of a healing dog. She did an excellent job. We talked almost every day to check in on him, and she responded right away. Claudia also gave me suggestions and was knowledgeable enough to problem solve as needed for my dog. I didn't have to worry about him once I dropped him offand we met before that time also.

Claudia was amazing! She took such good care of our fur babies. She took time to meet with us (prior to leaving) to ensure everyone's comfort. You won't regret. Choosing Claudia!

Perfection! My little Benjamin is a runner and Claudia Ann kept him safe, well fed, and active. She kept me updated about his activities and was flexible with a time for me to pick him up. If you hate crates and want dedicated attention to your fur baby, Berkshire is for you.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically a home visit to check in on your dog or to feed them is $22 per visit, and we can do up to 4 visits per day.
A stay at our place is a flat fee of $45 per day, and we keep a very low number of dogs: typically no more than 4 or 5 during busy times and maybe 1 or 2 dogs when it is quiet. We are kennel-free, have an obstacle course and treadmill. This is a home environment, not a kennel.
We make our own, organic dog food which includes vital nutrients such as organic beef, low mercury fish, oregano for anti-viral properties, turmeric for inflammation, fresh organic veggies, pumpkin, anti-oxidant berries, omega 3-6-9, among other nutrients.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically we set up a meet and greet and determine the client's needs. The meet and greet is a free process. I usually suggest that the dog comes to the house twice before he/she is actually boarded here. It makes for an easier transition for everyone.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, we always keep abreast of the latest trends...but when it comes down to it, you really just have to listen to the client's needs, understand what their dog really requires. I have a Masters Degree in Archaeology from Wayne State, but never went for my PhD. I started the dog boarding business while putting myself through school....and I ended up enjoying taking care of dogs so much. I still do archaeology on the side, but the dog business is my primary vocation now.
