FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing Illustrations is always complicated. I try to keep it as simple as possible. Under most circumstances (not all), what you are paying for is the one time use, or limited time use of an image, I retain the majority of the rights. A small advance is paid at the beginning of the project- mainly to cover materials costs. This would be after contract negotiations and rough sketches. The rest is paid when you receive the final print. For an added cost, on non-digital pieces originals can also be purchased-- unless I decide I would rather keep it. As for the actual numbers--- that really would just depend on what is wanted, how large it is and what medium is desired.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As of last December I completed a 4 year illustration program with the Kendall College of Art and Design, though my graduation is not yet official. I have not yet decided on getting a Masters.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Its what I am passionate about. Id rather be doing something I enjoy doing, than anything else.
